RHULSPORT is the umbrella brand that represents all areas of sport at the College. Recently launched it has enabled sport to raise its profile both internally and external.
Sport at Royal Holloway ranges from supporting World Class athletes to recreational sport. A number of current students and alumni have recently competed at the Beijing Olympics and their time at the College was supported by sports bursaries.
The Athletic Union supports 59 competitive sports teams who compete in weekly BUCS & ULU leagues and one-off competitions within the academic year. There are also a number of recreational events held for those who are not competing on a weekly basis.
Sport is a high profile topic with London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games getting nearer and particularly with Royal Holloway's proximity to the 2012 rowing and canoe venue. Hopefully some of our students and alumni will be set to represent their nations when 2012 comes around.
